Two, He says
A testament of His generosity

“Two eyes,” He said
One for you to see the world as I made it
The other for you see the world as you raised it
A test of the master of your visions
The choice is yours

“Two ears,” He said
One for you to hear my voice
The other not for you to listen, but merely hear them
A test of your teacher of choice
The choice is yours

“Two hands,” He said
One for you to serve your neighbours
One for you to feed yourself
A test of selflessness and inadvertent reward
The choice is yours

“Two feet,” He said
One to lead you down the path of righteousness
The other to lead you down a path of destruction
A test of where you allow yourself to be led
The choice is yours

“Two chances,” He says
One for you to experience a life of no return
The other for you return from it and never return to it
A test of your understanding of the value of a chance
For some get too lost and lose their second
The choice is yours

“Two lives,” He says
One to prove your dedication
The other to bear the fruits of it
A test of whether you even deserve the second,
Because the choice has always been yours

“Two comings,” He said
One to bear life and teachings and those who ought
The other to fetch those who sought
A test of preparation and faith
The choice lies with us

“Two wrists,” He did
One to pay for the sins of His children
The other to pierce the Truth and Word into history
This time it is not a test, but a reality
The choice was His, and He still made it

It leaves the question of why we were robbed of a second mind and a second heart
He knows the world will take your “twos” with no shame
The world is greedy in its greediness
He knew your “second” would not be safe
To say “Two” would no longer be generosity
It’s a test too sensitive to play around with
So He kept them safe and locked them away
Hoping that would at least bring us home

“Two,” He said
“Two,” He did
So that “One,” we are.
